Original Pictures Ltd are a Fine Art and Commercial Photography company established in 2004. The photography and art work are the creations of Craig Barker.

Biography - Craig Barker

Born and raised in Manchester,
Craig has always been a keen
photographer whose early works
were inspired by the buildings and
thoroughfares of his home City.
Growing up on the streets of
Manchester and spending time
as a unwanted companion to his
taxi-driver Dad, Craig developed a
unique perspective on this vibrant City
which is reflected in the powerful
images he produces.

Like any self-respecting Mancunian, Craig’s other passions include
football and music!


Having formally studied photography and graduating with an
Honours Degree, Craig joined a company specialising in black and
white photography which gave him a solid technical grounding
and experience of marketing in a commercial environment.
This was an excellent stepping-stone to establishing his own
imaging business, which he did in 2004.

His artwork now features on the walls of galleries throughout the
UK and has been acquired by many international companies and
private collectors who recognise the unique nature of his artistic
and technical abilities. The N.H.S. and The National Trust are regular
commissioners of his fine art pieces that present local landscapes
in a new and visually exciting way.

In his own words, Craig aims to capture ‘the tension and drama that
he sees in these environments and the degree to which they create
a paradoxical feeling of being big and small at the same time’.

There is no doubt that Craig’s images are worthy of repeated
viewing which reveals the subtlety of his lens eye and his
painstaking efforts to digitally rework the photograph to a point at
which Fine Art and Digital Mastery become one.
